Does the psychological variables predict life satisfaction and purpose in life in brazilian elderly?

Aims: the present study aimed to investigate association between indicatives of stress, anxiety and depression with life satisfaction purpose in among Brazilian older adults.Methods: this cross-sectional was conducted 654 adults who responded Life Satisfaction Scale, Purpose Perceived Stress Geriatric Anxiety Inventory Depression Scale. Data were analyzed through independent t-test, Cohen’s D, Pearson Correlations Multivariate Regression Analysis (p<0.05).Results: results indicated slightly higher levels stress for women when compared men (p<0.05); inversely correlated (r = -0.19 -0.44; p<0.05); (β=-0.29) (β=-0.36) significant predictors (R2=0.31; p<0.01), (R2=0.18; p<0.01) predicted by (β=-0.15), (β=0.10) (β=-0.39).Conclusion: It can be concluded that are factors hindering adults’ life.
